Some Days

After being abused, many survivors still deal with many mixed emotions and feelings for years to come. You have some good days and some bad days during the healing process. There are days when being happy is in the forefront of your mind. Then there are the seemingly dark days when all you can think about is the pain and hurt you're still dealing with. Unfortunately, there is not an easy quick cure to get through the process of healing, but you will be able to see a big difference if you don't give up.

I can share with you what helped me get through my painful days. My favorite activity was and still is, guided christian meditation. I found that meditating calmed my spirit and gave me a deeper feeling of connection with God (meditate on the word, day and night). I remember coming home from work and puting it on and how relaxing it was. It also helped in answering many of my unanswerable questions. You can find many videos on youtube regarding 'guided christian meditation. My favorite one is titled "Stillness". at night when I had trouble sleeping do to flashback I put on "Stillness" and be guided right into a peaceful slumber.

Other activities I engaged in was learning to play tennis, walking through the park, taking a small trip and writing. The goal is to start with something and discover what works best for you. In the meantime keep your head up and remember to survive to be victorious!
