BGDP has sponsored school supplies in the columbus area for the past four years. Each year we have witnessed the growth of this program by the tremendous support of the southeast side of town. Our first year we were able to purchase supplies for 25 students and partnered with True Vine Ministries of Columbus Ohio and Lost Souls Ministries for distribution. The second year only brought a minimal increase to 30 students, but we didn't give up. We kept right on selling bottled water and raising awareness of our program. It wasn't until the third year that we were able to see a larger increase to 50 students supplied with school supplies to start the year off right. Due to a small staff we were only able to raise funds on the weekend, but this year is already starting off on a very bright note. With a staff of 6 people we can now raise awareness and sell water on the corners of Ohio and Champion off of Livingston Avenue. So our goal is to double our purchase of school supplies to support 100 students for the 2015-2016 school year. Supplies will be distributed by the J. Ashburn Youth Center and other agencies. We will supply the dates and times of the giveaways in the near future.
