It has been a month now and the ability to focus on changing the face of domestic violence through artistic ventures has become a fact. When I first started on this journey I learned that art was the act of creating beauty. Perfect, because of all the ugly I had seen in this world why not create something beautiful and help others along the way.
Abuse does a lot of damage to a person's mind and development, but healing is possible! It does take some work and effort. A lot of past victims speak about developing a spiritual life which, I truly know is what kept me. It will definitely help you develop your art. The beauty about art is that is can be anything; music, writing, photography, painting, crafting, perfumery, etc....
This month, while creating inventory for the etsy shop (soaps, lotions, candles, etc.) I created my first perfume scent. I gave it to my mother for mother's day. Everyone who tried it, absolutely loved it. I also worked on developing an all natural lotion base. It bothered me that lotion is ingested into your body through the skin. After reading the labels you may not like all ingredients in that lotion and I refuse to buy any type of acid to mix any.
For next month I am hoping to start video blogging and preparing for the back to school supply drive. I will keep you posted. Remember, live victoriously!
