Seven years ago, while I was on the bus heading for work. An older woman about 50 years old approached me and stated, "I watch you every morning, and because I know you will be here, I find strength to keep going each day!" This shocked me, because I was only 29 and I didn't fully understand what she meant. Today my understanding is much clearer. At that time I had two small children that I took to daycare before going in to work. We had to walk 30 minutes down a long inclining hill that seemed to go on forever. Then after work we had to walk back up the hill. My ex husband would not pick the children up or drop them off and I was the only one working at the time. Regardless of my home life, I remember being determined to keep striving for a better life for my family. Yes, some days hurt more than others, but I made it through not realizing that anyone was watching or even cared about what I was dealing with. If this woman had not said anything to me, I would never have known that she was being encouraged. This proves that our light will always outshine darkness. My light was able to give strength to someone else. Sometimes, as we are going through our trials, we don't see it that way, but try to find the joy that is set before you. Let your light shine inspite of!
